Director's Note
Our choice to do a musical revue this summer reflects our desire to provide a broad range of training opportunities for our students. Actors, whether or not they are pursuing a musical theatre emphasis, benefit enormously from meeting the vocal, stylistic and movement challenges inherent in bringing to vivid life scenes from the musical theatre repertoire. We chose material that focused on women for reasons both pragmatic- we have an abundance of talented female students- and aesthetic- it has been a remarkable and historic year for women and we wanted to celebrate that.

Mission of the Department of Theatre
In the best tradition of a land -grant University, our department complements Auburn University's emphasis on broad-based education with a rigorous program of practical training.  The department's program is exclusively undergraduate with immediate opportunities for hands-on experience in performance, stage management, design and technical production.  Auburn University Department of Theatre is a laboratory in which our undergraduates are allowed to experience multiple aspects of the collaborative process of production, to succeed or to fail artistically in an atmosphere that places a premium on process and practicality.
