Scholarships

2009 Auburn University Theatre Scholarship Auditions/Open House

When: Saturday, January 24, 2009 beginning at 10:00am.

Where: Telfair Peet Theatre; Samford Ave. at Duncan Drive, Auburn, AL.

Award: Presented to students who demonstrate significant potential in performance, design-technology, or stage-management. Amount based on merit.

Open to: High School seniors and College transfer students who intend to major in Theatre and have maintained a 3.0 grade point average in their high school or previous college academic work.

Audition or Presentation: Consists of three minutes of prepared material. Actors should choose material from dramatic literature that exhibits strongest aspect of their work. Singers must bring taped accompaniment. Designers, Stage Managers and technicians will have five minutes to present their work, featuring portfolios, prompt books, and other appropriate supporting materials. All scholarship candidates and their families are invited to master classes with guest artists beginning at 10:00 am, lunch, and A.U. Theatre performance on Saturday evening at 7:30 pm.

Auditions for fall 2009 entering freshman students interested in the
music theatre degree track (THMU) at Auburn will be held in
conjunction with our scholarship auditions on January 24. Students
should prepare a three minute audition featuring an excerpt from a
broadway song and a contemporary monologue. For more information and
